question:

How many other nations in the world have failed to elect to their highest office, in a general election, a candidate who later received the nobel peace prize?

Just shows to go ya how out of touch we are. Are we the world's *most* warmongering nation? ... uh .... yeah, I guess so!

We also failed to RE-elect a presidential candidate who later received the Nobel Peace Prize.

Yes. And both times, the guy we didn't elect was mocked for being bookish and wimpy and dull, while the guy we did elect was hailed as strong and tough and brave and ready to take on evil empires and axes of evil.
