An Iraqi student converses with average Americans

This is a fascinating episode from last year of Chicago Public Radio's "This American Life". An Iraqi student currently living in the U.S. traveled around the country with a portable booth, chairs, and sign which reads "Talk to an Iraqi". He captured some fascinating and insightful conversations he had with various folks on video. Very worth the 20 minutes it takes to watch it.

Hyder is amazingly strong to be able to listen to people say that his country is being destroyed 'for American freedom' I am glad Tori apologised to him. (Go President Tori!) This movie reminds me of how harmful the Bush administration was, and makes me thankful Obama was elected, and hopeful we Americans (!) will see more and more truth, and less and less believe the lies which have allowed this war in Iraq to happen...

wow. That was very powerful. I appreciated his calm, patient, and respectful interaction even when dealing with morons.

But more than that. It helped me see the war and occupation from a different perspective. Thanks so much for sharing it.
